You have got a good start. The towel covering is a good idea to keep him less stressed. It may take awhile before he feels safe enough to eat. I would try to put yummy fruits like berries, melon, mango, papaya in there with his veggies to encourage eating. Try to hand feed him...see if he'll stick out his tongue to taste what you offer. You should get a fresh fecal sample to the vet. He probably has parasites. His tail base looks sunken...he's definitely malnourished but it will take time to get him back on track.
