Hello everyone,
I recently purchased a Powersun (160 Watt) mercury vapour flood lamp and have found that Joey's basking area is not nearly as warm as it was with the Reptisun basking light (150 watt). I suppose this is because it is a flood lamp rather than a direct lamp??? How close can a Powersun be to Joey before it is a hazard...? Can it be 12" away if it is separated from Joey by hardware cloth?
Anyways, temporarily I went back to the separate heat and UV lamps and then a blue light at night, but would like to get some sort of heater to warm up the ambient temperature of his cage (6x5x4)anyways;
the problem is...everywhere I go has no idea what I'm talking about when I ask about radiant heat panels (the pet stores have no idea, they've only heard about the ceramic heat emitters, but have none in stock); hardware stores have no idea either.
I live in Canada and was just wondering where they can be found. A heating store maybe? Or are they maybe not available in Canada? Does anyone know?
Thanks in advance.
