One day when I arrived from work I found one of my babies RES dead floating on the water!!She was basking and eating fine the day before too!I was devastated !!!When I started raising turtles I read eveything I found in INTERNET to do a good job...Everything was perfect, the tank, the water, the food!!!BUT she died...Until now I dont know why...Turtles are like that...Some of them are not healthy enough to survive!!!If I was you I would go to the first pet shop and I would buy another one...Like that you can pretend nothing happened until you are less depressed.That is what I do when one of my children's pet die.

me from working today (about 12:30PM eastern time) and went to check on My Ig and Turts. I saw My Female Spotted Turtle on the bottom of the "tank" (actually a 100 gal rubbermaid horse trough that housed her and an eastern painted). I pulled her out and she was limp. I held her upside down and knocked on her shell trying to clear her lungs. She took a few What seemed to be gasping breathes but it's been about ten minutes since the last one. She's gone. I held her and watched her die. Dad wouldn't let me take her to the vet. Too Expensive He said. I have no idea what I did wrong. She was basking and eatting fine yesterday. No signs at all that anything was wrong. Now She's sitting on me lap, dead. I'm so depressed. I'm actually crying while I'm typeing this. I can't stand this! I'll NEVER get another turtle. After My painted goes, that's it! No MORE! I hate this..
