I'd look into the suggestions below. You have a more difficult area to heat than I do. I have a large enclosure and I live in FL...so on both counts it is easier to keep my temps up! I have had good luck with my CHE that I use at night. Perhaps if your ig has the whole room it isn't as essential to get the whole room temp up (although you may need to keep your house warmer if it gets too cool). I would definitely concentrate on the areas your ig spends most of his time in. If you can achieve some higher gradients in those areas that would be a good start.
