Meggy's Mom...
Youre so very welcome! I had to put Juana in an old 150 gallon aquarium I have for the eight weeks..it has a screen/wood top and Juana wanted OUT from the very beginning. She was/is a free roamer and the confinement drove her nuts! she would "hang ten" and do chin ups by grabbing the top of the tank..& I'd gasp when she would release and fall down, but they are very resilient little buggers don't let it scare you too much...the most important thing is limiting their climbing, don't let the sutures get wet for very long (if she gets poop on em, gently clean the sutured area with betadine and warm wash cloth)with the antibiotics she'll foremost be dehydrated ...lots of water laden (after cleaning them, leave the rinse water on them) greens..give her some papaya (lots of healing enzymes in em) and may want to dust the greens veggies with rep-cal or minerall vitamin supplement. I for one..am behind you and your difficult decision to spay her 100%. When I read all the posts from gravid female Ig. owners I thank my lucky stars Im not them. Keep in touch prolly lots of things I forgot to mention, or just plain forgot about...we're here to TRY and help ya. Don't forget to ask the vet about side effects from the anesthesia (constipation comes to mind) and get after care instructions. Our prayers are with ya Meggy!
