It seems that you and your dad are posting messages about the same DI!!I didnt answer your messages because I dont know anything about DI!!
I have 5 igs and when one of my igs dropped his tail I didnt do anyhting because I thought it was a normal thing that happens to many lizards.
My father was a doctor(he died a few years ago ) and he taught me that sometimes its better not to interfere with mother nature.
He didnt allow us to take medicines when we were not VERY sick because he thought too many medicines can be harmful.He never gave us medicines for colds, for small cuts or injuries,for low fever, to calm down before school exams, etc...I think he was right and I avoid giving too many medicines to my chidren too.
My ig's tail healed and regrew a lot.
