I dont know, perhaps Im wrong but I think the smaller the iguana is more easy will be for him to get warm.Kenya my 5 months iglet is ready to eat at 7,30AM.As soon as she wakes up.My juvies will be ready to eat around 11 AM.Godzilla will be able to eat only at 2.30PM, 3.00 PM sometimes later on.I read that in the wild the adult iguanas climb the trees until they reach higher branches to be able to get more sun.The younger, as they are smaller and easier to become warm, stay on the ground. That's why their green color is too intense. To mix with the ground vegetation and confuse the predators!!

.good news, no parasites! Quick question: I give Beanie her
:food at about 7:30 am when I leave for work. Her warming light
:comes on at about 7am. I have read that she will not eat until
:properly warmed up. She pigs out immediately as soon as the
:food is put in. Is this OK? There isn't a chance this could
:hurt her somehow is there? I have read it takes several hours
:to reach their "optimal" temperature for eating. What's up
:with her? Oh yeah, she is now eating a whole paper plate full
:a day :)
:Thanks in advance
