Sleestack or Damian? Iguana runs from church! HA HA

This year, like last year, we took our lizards to get blessed (they hold a special short outdoor service to bless your pets once per year and pray for their health). Last year went pretty well, but this year my husband decided Sleestack didn't need the dog carrier, but only his leash. Somehow I knew this was a bad idea.

Slee freaked out on the way to church and once there, he jumped from Bob's shoulders and hit the asphault running! He broke his hip leash in 2 seconds flat, although I don't know how! And Bob's arms now look like he was in a fight with a wolverine. We got him back in the truck somehow. I went ahead and got my beardie blessed (who is an angel as always) and had the pastor go to the truck and lay his hand on Sleestack's head...so he could be blessed too. I laughed out loud at the irony of one part of the prayer, but tried to maintain my composure. Somehow... "...and let Sleestack bring peace unto your lives." seemed like a lot of work even for God!

I had hoped that as Sleestack grew up, he would mellow out some but it looks like he will always remain high strung and afraid of new environments. We cannot take him anywhere without him thinking we are trying to kill him! :(

Anyway he got a small piece of cornbread as a treat and he was very happy about that. ;-)
