:Over the past week end my sons and I attended the Reptile show in Tampa! It was great! While there we found what we were looking for! Our Desert Iguanas. We were told by the vendor they were from AZ captive bred. I doubt that! When I asked what they fed them he told me crickets. Tells me he didn't know much about Desert Iguanas! In the past as a teen and young adult I raised a DI for 16 years before he died! He was my friend and companion. I took him everywhere even on vacations. My son wanted his own Iggy with lots of searching we found (3) at the show! Got (2) hatchlings (very cute), and one adult. The hatchlings are eating their greens. But the big guy won't. He will eat meal worms, and occationally carrots. I don't want to keep feeding him meal worms since he is vegetarian. Has anyone else had this problem? Does anyone have any answers on how I may get the big guy to eat his veggies? He has a fat tail, but his sides are sinking in. I give him water with an eye dropper. I have owned (4) DI's in the past. Not one of them refused to eat their veggies. He basks under a heat lamp most of the day up to 100 degrees+. But he shows no interest in eating what he should. Please get back! Thanks, Bill.
