Mystery solved!
My last iguana, Salvador, used to do it to this big iguana head puppet we had. I would pretend to bob it and he would bob back...one day in the living room I saw he got very upset about it and thought he was no longer alpha iguana. I felt bad so I made it look like the puppet retreated and he won. Well.... he then proceeded to patrol the living room and bob at every corner of it just to let him know that this was allll his territory! It was pretty funny but I didn't do it anymore since it proably stressed him out.
