curtains on outside of enclosure... they can help keep the heat in. Blankets or towels will help as well...
Cindy
:I picked up my iguana yesterday and had a couple of questions.
:I am a worry wart. Her large enclosure won't be ready until
:the middle of next week so I have her in a large dog crate with
:a shelf built in and a 75 basking bulb and UVB over this area.
:The area is about 90 degrees. At one end I have another fixture
:with a 100 watt red bulb. Under the basking board is a heating
:pad which I use at night. It gets to about 80-82 degrees. The
:room is 70-74 degrees as it has turned cool here. With the
:wire cage it is impossible to keep an ambient temp of 80 degrees.
:Will she be OK until the new enclosure is complete? Is there
:any way to raise the temp without using any more heat lamps?
:She has not really been on her basking area this morning but
:is very active and ate a few bites of kiwi. Should I assume
:due to her behavior that she is warm enough? Oh yeah, she is
:climbing all over the cage so at least I know she has some
:climbing ability.
:Thanks
