Well I don't think there will be any need to rebreak his fingers! It is not uncommon for them to break these.
Add colorful veggies and fruit to his diet to tempt him into eating dark leafy greens. You can use crushed up cherry tums as a calcium supplement or buy Rep-cal calcium. (a proper diet means he won't need much supplementation but since he is in bad shape, you will probably want to use some as well as Rep Cal Herptivite vitamins).
Take a fresh stool sample to get checked for parasites too. (may require meds) If he does have MBD..your vet may want to give calcium injections, depending on the severity.
