Yeah, Goliath barely ate for a month or more and lost a bit of weight, but he got his appetite back and packed the weight back on in just a week or so. And if you think he needs a "girlfriend" then you could get a stuffed animal that he can "play" with.lol. It worked for Goliath because he would hump my pillow or clothes (not while they were on me though) and i'd have to wash them. SO the easiest thing to do is go to Big Lots or Wal-Mart get a stuffed animal and put it in his enclosure until breeding season is over and let him have his fun:)
