Mites on a reptile are treatable. Mites are no as far as I am aware a healthy thing in captivity. But here is a link to an article regarding reptile allergies. Hope this helps you.

:Please help, building an enclosure for an iggy that i am adopting, it has been pointed out that many iggys carry a mite and that my daughter (who has eczema) could become allergic to it, has anyone else had experences with this , i have looked at all the sites available but none mention these mites please help fiona
