Well, I don't actually cook the mice/rats. :-) I just thaw them out so they're a bit warm for the snake to eat. It would be much harder for me to do it if I had to kill the mouse myself, since I don't want to kill anything. But snakes are carnivores, and rodents are their natural prey. Besides, mice and rats can be pretty nasty creatures, even if they are kinda cute! Plus, they're not as cute when you buy a bag of them frozen... Anyway, you don't have to get a snake, Flavia, but I wanted to let Heather know, since she sounds interested in keeping a snake but thought they had to be fed live prey.

Anyway, you want to see cute?? When I get the pictures of my new little baby snake developed, then you can see REAL cuteness! ;-)

:Cmon Kate, I understand you love snakes I love them too and I would love to have one, but to cook a beautiful and sweet furry thing dead or alive is toooo much for me!!I cant do it!!

:*****************************************************************i:Hey - I just wanted to letyou know that it's better to feed snakes rodents that are already DEAD! No live feeding for the safety of the snake, plus the convenience. You buy the rodents frozen & thaw them out when it's time to feed ~ once per week. If live feeding is your only reason not to get a snake, then you should go ahead and get one, since most keepers agree it is better to feed frozen/thawed instead of live anyway.

::: I LOVE Snakes but She's not into feeding Live animals to ANYTHING! Not Chams, snakes, Water Dragons, NOTHING. The Only thing She'll feed to something else is ants or crickets. Nothing else. DEFINATLY not Roaches! (even I won't go there) :P
