I would not reccomend getting a ball python if you want to take it for walks for several reasons.
1. Ball pythons are extrememly shy and scared easily. They are VERY easy to stress out, and they will not eat if stressed.
2. They are nocturnal, so unless you like to take walks in the moonlight.
I have a ball python and they are great snakes, but not to take out. A big adventure for them would be a walk in the back yard or in the living.
Handling should be kept to 10-20 minutes at that.
I take mine out maybe twice a week because all she does is curl up in her hidebox. She comes out sometimes after 10:00, if she is hungry or wants to get out of her cage.
Sorry for rambling but I can not stress enough how taking a walk with people around is a good idea.
