I was all excited about the results of my 4 month, on going experiment on how best to store greens...then I read about Joan's mega chopper!! Well...for those of you who are still in the stone age with me...here's what I have found...after lots of trying lots of different ways...Collard greens store best submerged in water (up to 2 weeks), Mustard greens do better submerged, too...in the fridge, of course. My turnip greens seem to last longer in a plastic bag with holes in it. Not alot of water. I have learned that if I seperate the types of greens, then when one type starts to rot, it won't spread to the other types, since they all seem to have different lifespans in the fridge! Anyway...this is what I've come up with. I haven't had enough dandelion greens yet to store for a long time...we use them up really quick! I got my seeds, to start my green garden (any day now), and with all this talk about hibiscus...I'm thinkin' seriously about buying one or two!! Cleo likes dandelion flowers, so she would probably like hibiscus! I'm sorry...I'm rambling...I've been away from this board for a while...and I had so much to say!! Now my eyes are all blurred from so much reading since my last visit! I feel like I have abandoned my Cleo...I've been working so much...and whenever I get home she is already in her bed. I see her early in the AM...she gets up with me about 6-ish...I give her breakfast...then it's out the door.....bummer! I can't wait for a day off in this warm weather so we can go outside.
Well...enough about us!!
Hope everybody is doing great...I missed you guys!!
