Our UVB lamps are some of the most expensive items for us to manufacture; therefore, they are not cheap. This is still a business and we can't go around selling things at a loss and write it off as charity. The fluorescents are made on some of the finest machinery in the world. The ReptiSun 5.0 and Iguana Light 5.0 really are the best UVB fluorescent available. We try to promote good reptile health by producing the highest quality products that we can.
Personally, I feel that the best way to increase and promote reptile health is through education. As I am sure all of you know, many pet store employees and the public at large are a great deal in the dark when it comes to the special demands of Iguanas and other reptiles.

:Why are Reptisun 5.0, and powersun UV lights so expensive? You should promote good health of reptils and lower the prices a lil. I mean, its not like you guys dont make enough money off of the poor pellet diets you make for iguanas, and other reptiles, or on all the other useless products you make. You know promote good health of reps and lower prices on the one thing that actually improves the health of a pet. Thats all, thanks for lending me your ear.
