i live in fresno ca. it is very hot and dry here. in the summers it is over 110 or so on a daily basis.:
: : i am planning on growing my ig a small garden,
: that way i won`t have to worry about pesticides
: and i`ll always have fresh foods for him. i was
: just wondering if any of you ahd any suggestions
: for what i should grow, and also any gardening
: tips, i`ve never grown a garden before. i am also
: looking for ways to aviod pests without using
: chemicals. if any of you know of any ways, or know
: of a source that i could look for this info it
: would be great if you could post it. also, i was
: thinking about making an iggy compost of his poops
: and any food he doesn`t eat to use to fertilize
: the garden. if you have any suggestions for that
: that would be great too. currently, i am growing
: endive, dandelion ( this should be easy!!!),
: parsley, various herbs, cilantro, nasturtium
: flowers, roses, and other edible flowers. i am
: wanting to grow foods for him that are difficult
: to find in stores, and treats. the climate i live
: in is a little too warm for hibiscus, so i`ll grwo
: those indoors, or outdoors on the patio where it
: is shady.thats all for now thanx in advance!!
: Sounds wondeful,we have one for our kids too. It's hard to keep pests off naturally,so I use warm water(no soap) and hand clean the leaves.I hae 25 hibiscus bushes al over my yard along with gerainiums(sp) that the kids love to eat.We use lady bugs alot too,to keep pests off the plants. We live in Fla,you said too hot for you to grow,,,Where do you live,?I thought they would grow anywhere.
: Lots of double red hibiscus to you two
