I do have a couple of points:
1) THANK YOU! this is a much needed resource, and a great start for a resource for newbies, and the ig community in general to point others to.......that said:
- Food: IMHO, (and I'm sure others) supplemets should not be emphaised ad hoc...that being, with a proper diet, barring recovery from previous wrong-doings in care, they should not be needed.
- Lighting: Vita-Lights have been shown to be next to nothing in UV creation. In their day they were the best that there was available, but with the advent of the ZooMed 5.0's (which you did mention) VitaLights are pretty much useless for high UVB needing lizards, such as green igs. 18" would be nothing usefull with a VitaLight. (Mr. D. can lend specific UV levels at various distances)
Heating: IMHO a hot spot of 100+ is benfefial, but this needs to be in a LARGE enclosure that can maintain a low ambient towards the cool end. (Just my 2 pennies here)
- You mention a male breeding season aggression (which is good), but a lot of females become quite tempermental in their egging season. Just feel more should be said about this period, and potential effects on a female ig (ie - temperment, health risks if not in top shape, etc)
Good misconceptions, and good references!
All in all a great start! Thanks again for your time in this. A little tweaking, and it'll be GREAT!
