:There are a lot of parents like that unfortunately. Even when I think back to my parents-- they gave away my birds no matter how I cried. Birds were my life as a kid. I did develop bad allergies so I understand they were trying to do what was best for me, but they could have come up with other solutions. Some of those birds had been with me for 10 years. They never took any of my animals to the vet-- it just wasn't done.
