i understand that you would be interested in researching this,i found this info out on a site called the virtual iguana which also contains a forum. one of the members posted a message and i asked him to send me his source. he did, but i have it as an attached file in an email. i would like to post it in this forum, but i don`t know how. if anyone could tell me how, i would appreciate it. if not, at the very least, could you tell me how to retrieve the info from my email, so i can at least site you a source? i use aol and so that is my email account. i will keep you all posted as i do research of my own. i belive mk even has some info on this stuff at her site. i believe the chemical that causes the damamge is also called triclosan. as you all know mk has cfs and has many sensitivities to chemicals and just plain old dial makes it hard for her to breathe if she uses it without a window open nearby. i also read that in a post in the virtual iguana forum. it was put there by permission from mk by a member. please visit the virtual iguana for some info on this situation. you have to become a member to go in the forum, but its free and simple. ok thats all for now, keep me up to date with your research as well.

: : OK i just read a very scary piece of literature on antibacterial soaps. first off, i guess they contain a substance all of us would know as agent orange, yes, the same stuff that dissolved the rainforests in vietnam and caused millions of deformities and cancer cases in the vietnamese and also in our vietnam vets. it also does not kill any bacterias that can harm us. all it does is kill the weaker strains of viruses and bacterias and tehn leave more room for the stronger ones to multiply and become stronger. much the same way not finishing your antibiotics will give whatever you were infected with a chance to mutate and multiply and create what we know as the super bugs - strains of viruses and bacterias that are resistant to antibiotics and toher forms of treatment. this is very bad and very scary. also, antibacterial soaps should not under any circumstances be used on iguanas; or any animal for that matter; or any tank or aqurium, or furnishings within the aqurium. the other scary thing is that if you are using antibacterial soaps to wash your dishes, you are eating very deadly chemicals, which are left in residual amounts on your dishes. also, these chemicals will not rinse off of sponges, dish cloths or other poruos surfaces that it has come in contact with, like your hands. if you put your sponge in the dishwasher to clean it you are spreading these chemicals all over your dishes. if you put a towel in the washing machine to wash off the chemicals all you are doing is releasng the chemicals into your clothing. the scary thing is that if these chemicals are in contact with your skin, like if they are spread to your clothes,or you are washing dishes n a sink full of water with the antibacterial soap in it, your skin is porous and will absorb small mounts of anything on your skin. over time this may cause you and your family health problems. please tell everyone you can abou this. it is very dangerous. these chemicals are not a joke. they can kill your pets and they can contribute to your death as well as your familys.

: : : I was just thinking, is there such a thing as iguana bubble bath or iguana soap? Like antibacterial? If there is such a thing, is it safe?

: Meagon, where did you find this information?Just like to do some more reserch on this and wnated a start on where to look.It is true about antiboiotics and mutating germs and viruses,,,but I've not heard of anti-bac soaps with agent orange in them.If this has been reserched I'd like more info on who did the reserch and how long.It is scarey to think that this is true but truth is stranger then fiction.Hope this is just another rumor.Let's all do some reserch on it.
