I understand your anxiety. It's good that you read Kaplan's book. Did you know she has an exhaustive website as well? There is a very helpful section about socializing iguana's and it covers how to handle 'aggressive' males. This aggression you hear about is actually pretty rough 'foreplay' and breeding behavior. You could say they are slaves to their hormones. But like I said, there are tons of info on this site.
