Thanks for asking. It seems like things might be starting to happen down there in Stumpland. When the area first healed over, it was a dull pinkish-white. Now I am starting to see areas that look like new blood vessels might be forming under the skin, as though he's making a new blood supply to fuel regrowth.

The stump is perfectly clean and healthy-looking, so even if that tail never should regenerate, I am happy and grateful that Amazon is doing just fine. I'll always remember that lovely long yellow striped tail lovingly, but it does seem like Amazon is gaining a lot more mobility since he dropped that tail.

Maybe losing that extra weight back there allowed him to start exercising muscles that got weak from when his backbone was partially fused. He seems to get stronger every day and is just the happiest little jumper and climber now!

Losing his tail may have been the best possible thing that could have happened to that backbone of his. God does smile down on his creatures.
