I live in a tropical country.I dont need to put any artificial lights or heat in my igs cages. They live outdoors the whole year!!I feed them only salads and salads are very cheap to buy!!I think iguanas are the easiest animal in the world to raise. You only have to buy a cage but a huge birds cage is not very expensive.I have spent much more money with my dogs!!
To tame then is not very easy but is not very difficult either. They panic a little bit on the beginning but after they get used to be handled. When I was a child my father gave me a baby leopard cat.Did you try to tame a leopard cat?Or a baby monkey(not chimpanze!)or even a wild cat?If you think its difficult to take an iguana from under the living room furniture think about what is to take a leopard cat from the same place!!
But as I said before, I think iguanas are easy and very cheap to raise because I live in a tropical weather country. If I lived in a cold country I would not have iguanas!!Too much trouble!!

:i think you're making it sound far too easy!!!!
:i'd recommend annaul checkups. and they are NOT cheap or easy to raise / house!
:food costs a bit, electrical bills are a lot, and nerves are even more!
:the iguana is not for a novice herper. They can grow to be a very large and formidable animal. They can take a finger off if they really wanted to.
