I'm really not that familiar with the uros but beardeds are a good starter lizard. They are docile and take handling well. Depending on which variety you get they will reach 14 to 20 inches long so they will need a large enclosure. But nowhere near the size for an Ig. They require a desert environment. The young ones eat a LOT of crickets. Just be sure that you get one that is at least 6 inches long. Some breeders will sell you hatchlings that are too small and they are a little bit difficult to raise with. But I commend you on doing the research before you have animal in hand.
