:Perhaps Roxy is afraid of the floor because she saw something down there in the past that freaked her out. For example a cockroach or mouse or other type of household pest. (I'm not suggesting you have roaches or something! However sometimes one can get in and then you never see another one again. This happened in my previous apartment, and I was afraid to go in the bathroom for the rest of the day!) Maybe you could change the floor a bit so it looks different? Just a possibility, the thought just popped in my head and I thought I would share.
