Congrats on your iguana and wanting to take good care of it!

I will link some care sheets to read over (good to bookmark these for future reference). Also good books are James Hatfield's Giant Green Iguana Manual and Melissa Kaplan's Iguanas for Dummies.

Some important issues are UV exposure, proper temps., proper diet, humidity, and get fresh fecal checks done a couple times per year or more if you suspect something is wrong. My iguana gets worms or parasites every once in awhile even though I keep him very clean.

Unfiltered exposure to sunlight will do wonders for them. Don't ever leave them unattended in the sun where they cannot move to the shade...they can become overheated (and shadows move throughout the day.) Also NEVER put them outside in an aquarium as you will overheat and kill them in no time...it must be a well ventilated cage.
