I can offer a couple bits of information. I saw an adult red iguana 4 years ago at the Orlando show. It was absolutely gorgeous and a deep red color. I've always been watching for another like it. I saw the baby red igs in Daytona and was quite impressed with the color but skeptical about whether they retain it through adulthood. I tried to talk them into getting me one to raise to verify if the color stays true....no luck. LOL I've spoken at length with the RR/Flukers vet and he says that they are not so rare...not like they'd like you to believe. They've just only recently started to exploit them as a marketing tool. He also stated that sometimes they are accidentally sent out with orders of green iguanas. Keep your eyes open when you visit the pet stores for supplies!!
P.S. Isolate that iguana from your gex...for a long time. There have been rumors floating around concerning not-so-nice infections. :(
