Good books are James Hatfield's Giant Green Iguana Manual and Melissa Kaplan's Iguanas for Dummies.

Try to adopt one...there are young and old ones, male and female all needing homes. And yes they need UV! Think long and hard before you make this commitment. They live a long time and are one of the most difficult reptiles due to size, aggression, etc. If you are still living at home, you may want to wait until after college to get one (or your mom has to be very into your iguana so she can take care of it when you cannot).
