I dont think to give a calcium supplement to your beautiful ig is a good idea. The site www.iguana-news.com/preart has very interesting information about the danger of hypercalcemia on the January 2002 article.According to this site with hypercalcemia (too much calcium)an iguana's blood calcium level becomes dangerously high and over time the organs become calcified and mineralization begins to take place.A varied diet of calcium-rich greens and mineral rich fiberous vegetables in concert with exposure to real sunlight is the best solution to avoid both MBD(hypocalcemia) and MMS (hypercalcemia).Dont forget male iguanas are more susceptible to MMS than female iguanas because the females lay eggs.

***************************************************************** :Mom wants to give Smirnoff a Calcium Suppliment as a measure of Prevention. Which one do you use? How Much? How Often? There's nothing wrong with him now and we want to keep it that way. He's 7 years old and a little under 4' long. He's got all his digits and a good diet. We just want to protect him. THANKS!
