In Reply to: Desert Iguana Care... posted by danman on August 17, 2002 at 16:03:22:
Due to their high activity level, bigger would definately be better. My juvenile pair of DIs are housed in a 4' x 2' enclosure. Of course they share this with a couple of chucks. Check the archives on the chuckwalla forum. That's where you'll find the best information. Due to similar interests in native species, many chuck people also do desert igs. You'll find great advice and it's a very friendly forum.
:I am going to be getting 2 desert iguana's (male and female) and I am going to try to mate them.
:They are captive bred, full grown, and very healthy.
:I am looking for any care tips, sheets, etc. and any instructions on building incubators that you could give me. They are kept together at the store, and are very active. I have a cage that is 30" long, 15" high, and 12"wide. is this big enough for the two of them?
:Email me, or just reply.
