In additon to the advice below...
You can avoid using staples by tying rope to wood, branches, or pvc. You can braid rope together, tie knots in it, make rope ladders, or make ladders out of pvc and wood dowels(rungs). Iguanas can climb all these items and they are lots of fun (some are not so fun to clean but you can replace rope pretty cheaply after awhile if need be).
With diet, variety is really the key...you should mix and match stuff (if not everyday, then every week at least) I feed 2x per day and offer some different items in each salad to make different overall taste. Then each week, I try to switch out some veggies. My lamest salad will have 2-3 items when I am about out of food. My best salad may have 8 items or more. For an honest average my morning salad may have 4-5 things, but my dinner would have 4-5 items with 3 of those being new items he didn't have in the morning.
