the only dry/commercial food *i've* *ever* heard positive things about is Reed's .... but ... it would also greatly depend on the contents of the particular food *and* if you're using it as "croutons" only and *not* as a whole diet ...

(i'm interested in seeing opinions on meagan's question! about using the 8 in 1 as a salad topping for protein???)

i'm pretty sure MK didn't mean for her diet to be written in stone (*grin*)... if there are alternative foods that will serve the same purpose, there should be no problem in substituting! she *does* seem to be *the* most knowledgeable on iguana nutritional requirements and i think *that* is the important part of following her diet suggestions .........!

Jen Swofford has an offshoot of MK's salad that focuses more on greens while still following MK's guidelines ... her site is at:
http://baskingspot.com/iguanas/igbook/index.html

"Table 1" is linked to below ... it's a *very extensive* list of nutritional contents of food and is a great help in planning next weeks ig-menu!

tongue flix + hibiscus (which is *not* a fruit *or* vegie) and happy grocery shopping!

iZ + mom (who wishes she knew how to make *two* links!)
