Shena, my 2 years old female iguana has a few black spots on her tail too.But they didnt get bigger and they have been there for months already.I dont know what they are but it doesnt look serious!!Do you have a photo?Perhaps we can compare!!

nt:hi I have a ig. that is about 2 years old. Recently I found out that on his tail, about 8 inches from the tip of the tail, there is a spot where the scales were gone and the spot turned black and it looked like its burned. I am sure that nothing that the ig. could reach so he could burn himself...I am worry that it might be some fungus or something that is killing the muscle or tissue on that area cuz it thinner than the surrounding. Can someone tell me what that might be and what i can do to treat it??? I don't want the tail to fall. Thank you so much for the help....
