:I've had him since Feb. 1999 and I think he may have been a year old by then. This guy is not a rescue, although my last ig was. I was in a tough place and emotionally couldn't handle another rescue after my favorite ig died. So, regretably I bought him at a petstore. They had a good diet, but bad living conditions. I could tell an older female was dying in the tank. She is the one that called to me...and I blocked her out of my mind. That was so hard. I still think of her to this day. If things had been different, I would have taken her home. You always bond better with the needy ones. Anyway, instead, I picked Sleestack...the most obnoxious one that was stepping on all the others and trying to escape. I wanted an iguana who wouldn't die for a loooong time. There are no guarantees of course, but despair makes us do strange things sometimes. To this day he is amazing in his climbing/escape skills. I don't know why I just spilled all this stuff...I guess I feel guilty for having anything to do with a petstore. I would never do it again. I do think Sleestack is unique and handsome...thanx for the compliment!
