i agree with PE about the tail ~ s/he obviously lost a good bit of it at one point ... (+ that's why the end of the tail looks so different)
length of spikes don't really indicate sex ...
like PE said, the femoral pores on the inside of the thighs is prob'ly the *best* indicator (short of an actual hemipene sighting or egg laying!)
other indicators are the jowls ~ males have nice big + fat jowls to impress the girlie-igs and have "fat pads" on top of their heads ... (i'll go find a good pic of iZ and circle stuff for ya)
females have more fat on the back of their neck, right where the spikes start, cuz that's where the male will (try to) grab her ...
at 33"stl, Boris may still be a bit on the young side to determine girl/boy *For Sure* ... but you'll prob'ly know fairly soon! *grins*
excuse the brain fog ~ i can't remember if you know Boris's age?? and how long s/he's been with you???
iZ + i met when he was 30"stl but he was soooooo under-nourished + not well cared for at all ~ stuff like that makes a HUGE difference as far as what age/size they start showing sexual characteristics ...
ok ... i'll go find some pix for you + show you what we're talking about! :)
