Taming Godzilla and the other igs became easier after I started using gloves. Not big and thick gloves only tight wool gloves, thick enough to avoid the iguanas teeth to perforate the material and hurt my skin. Before using it I was afraid of the croc rolls and the igs noticed I was afraid. Now I can handle any croc roll, any bite, any rough skin without fear!My igs started to respect me much more and they are becoming tame!!Really!
Godzilla is the most difficult to tame mainly during his breeding period!!Today I entered Godzilla's cage and he made the open mouth menace.I didnt care because I was using my long gloves(they are long enough to cover my arms until the shoulders) I took him in my lap I rubbed his jowls,I kissed his head without afraid!!After a few minutes he started the croc stuff.I took his body and instead of trying to impeach him of doing the movements I did the rolls with him but much more fast!!He couldnt believe what was going on!!Then he gave up, he relaxed and I gave him a bath, more kisses, and we spent a marvellous afternoon watching TV together.

PS.Another advice:Always talk to your ig before touching him!!Iguanas are not very good in recognizing people by the scent.A few weeks ago Godzilla bit me because he thought I was one of the other igs he hates.I only touch him after I talk with him long enough to make him recognizes me!!

ahimeddurvery tied:I am in love with my friends iguana and have been trying to bond with him for 5 months now. He is tame with the owner but nobody else.
:For five months now I have been trying to get closer to him. I have made little progress. In the beginning, if he was in his cage he would try and whip me when I was standing by the cage, he does not do that anymore. He now lets me crawl in the bottom of the cage and clean it, but he won't let me stand up in the cage. He lets me put my arm in the cage to give him food or mist him. He lets me touch him if the owner touches him first and the iguana closes it's eyes and I start to touch him. Ha Ha, but it won't let me touch him on my own. I also spend time by him and talk to him. I made him a pillow but he is just knocking that down. He headbobs at me and I headbob right back. He does not try and whip me anymore but he will give me a warning and flop his tail up and down which says to me, "Okay I have had enough, leave me alone". So then I do, which I have read that I should not let him show me who is boss, but to tell the truth I am scared to get whipped. Plus, I do not want to stress him out at all.
:Is there anything else I can do? Or should I stop trying. I know this takes time but I do not know what would be the next step. Any suggestions would help, thanks
