Ask someone from PETA just how many animals that the organization put down themselves last year.... I seem to remember reading somewhere that they placed a grand total of something like 133 dogs and cats. This number would be somewhat acceptable until I read the next sentence stating that, although they placed these 133 some odd animals, they had to put down closer to 10,000. Now, bear in mind that I'm pulling these numbers out of a foggy memory but I don't believe that they are too far off.... IF these are even remotely accurate - exactly how much good are they accomplishing ?
The main problem that I can see with "extremist" groups such as this is that they do not know when to use "extreme" action, what form it should take, and most importantly, when to stop. That being the case, I'll personally choose to start by fighting my own battle. Then if people feel that I have a worthy cause I can choose whether or not to be affiliated with them. At least that way I can be assured that there won't be a faux goat's head burning in effigy on my front lawn or someone breaking into my house at 3 a.m. to save to totally abundant and completely annoying "shoe spider" that may get squashed because I choose to put my slippers on without turning on the light and gently blowing into each one to make sure that there are no spiders migrating from the toe to the heel etc.. I'll never have my slippers confiscated as long as I know who's on my team and what game we're really playing....
