please please consider that igs have the potential to live 15-20 years ~ are you willing and able to make and KEEP that kind of commitment???

are you thinking of fixing up the whole room for an ig???
that could very well be an ig-HEAVEN!!!! *big grins*
i fixed up a room approx. 8x10 for iZ ~ it *IS* alot o' work + you have to make sure that it is as ig-proof as humonly possible ... but he *LoVed* it!!

his room had it's own heating system, in addition to the house's forced-air heat ... (we live in a 125yo house + iZ's upstairs room would've been tooooooo chilly otherwise) ...

as far as what "age" ig???
i'd suggest checking out the rescue groups in your area and consider adopting "an ig in need" ... *grin*
not all "rescue igs" have health problems ~ so see "who" needs a home in your area and go from there ...
