Going off food, drinking more than normal, digging around, and "antsy-ness" are all symptoms of getting ready to lay from my experience with our female. Ours never did use what we tried to fix for her. I have a friend who made an elaborate set up only to have her ig lay eggs on a pile of laundry LOL
If you've not read them yet, find Desiree's and Dino's homepages. They have info on their sites about SUCCESSFUL layings. And I think it should be the same schedule regardless of fertility.
Our female was spayed in July 98 (long scary story). As Ig3 pointed out, this is dangerous and expensive. But in our case it was needed to save her life. And to be honest with you, I'm so glad to not have to worry about her again in this area. Being gravid takes a lot out of the iguana AND her owners!!
I wish you both the best with this! Sounds like she should be laying very soon.
