He use to climb into my guina pigs cage and sit over her bowl so she couldn't eat. This is how I found out he liked them in the first place. Now the bowl is always available. He will eat when ever. If I don't put out his salad quick enough he will start eating pellets first. Or he will eat it just because. I have found that he thinks that they are a treat. If he is hidding up in my closet, all I have to do is offer and he will come down. Pretty funny. I wanted to get a picture of him hanging from one shelf to a lower shelf to eat from the plate I use to keep them on. He hasn't done since I put the cammera where I could get to it. Rats.
I use rabbit pellets because they have a lower proten %. I don't know if it makes that much of a difference.
