i agree with Flavia!!! :)
but *what* you say isn't as important as *that* you say it ...
you can talk about your day, or the really nummy greens you've fixed for supper, anything really! what matters is that you are spending time together + "getting to know each other" ...
just plain talking, in a soft, soothing voice ...
oh! + do NOT *shush* an ig!! do you know what i mean??? like you would with a baby or a furry pet?? (shhhhh shhhhh, it's ok ...)
because it sounds too much like a *hissssssss* which is a threatening sound ... make very quiet little "clicking" sounds with your tongue for a "soothing sound" ...
and don't get discouraged!
it takes igs a while to decide to trust you and like you and it takes a bit of work and ALOT of patience ... but it is very very worth it!!!
