yeah that stuck in my head all day if I used the "ology", It should be Entomology. More people would of bought that if I said it was the study of ants. Reguardless of the anthropology statement(which I think MK is anyway) that really wasnt the point of the message.

:What does anthropology have to do with mites, ticks, or fleas?? I was an anthropology major in college, so I can tell you with complete surety that anthropology is the study of humans - culture, human evolution, etc. You can study other primates as part of anthropology (gives us a better understanding of our common ancestors and other stuff), but certainly not arachnids, insects, or even reptiles.

::mites and fleas are not in the same falmily, mites are in the spider family, fleas are not! MK's article is wrong. The only way they are related is they are ectoparasites. However mites and ticks are related. Nymph mites are only 6 legged at birth, but as adults they have 8 legs. I've mentioned this before on the forums..."that you cant believe everything your read!".
::Melissa...that first line on your page is wrong. They arent even in the same family. Atleast make the correction that they are only related as ectoparasites. Are you an anthropologist Melissa?
