I just wanted to say that your tegus was beautuful and I think I pressed to wrong key(twice???)
Do you have any experience with Brazilian tegus?
How big tegus can get?
Do you think they are easier to tame than GIs?What do they eat?
Your reptiles are soooo beautiful that I am afraid I am going to press the wrong key again!!

*****************************************************************:: The Columbian species are a bit tougher to tame but not impossible. Argentine and Paraguayan Tegus tame very nicely and can make excellent pets. They do have an aggressive feeding response, like a monitor, but if kept well fed, can be a wonderful companion. There is a strong opinion that the Blue Tegus are very hard to tame but I've found that this isn't true either. I have several Blue Tegus that travel to herp shows with us that behave very nicely. This is a shot of Zephyr, a Blue male that's het for albino, hanging out at one of the shows. You can see he's laying over the tail of Bubbles, the Rhino iguana.
