Poor girl!!That's funny she looks so "normal"on the photo!!Is it true it is impossible to know that an iguana has kidney failure until he,,,,passes away??

Please ignore the pajamas and the human, this was the best picture I could find of Lizzy!!!
:This is Lizzy and me, she was believed to be about 8 years old, I got her in July of 2001, from some pretty undesireable people who fed her Monkey Chow and frozen broccoli, they proudly informed me that she only poops once a month, I was completely floored that these people considered this to be normal, I was able to get her into the vet the next day where, unfortunatly, they confirmed my fears, she was in last stage kidney failure, they gave her some saline and calcium injections to get her by for awhile,but at 6 feet and only 8 whimpy pounds (all skin and bones, yuck) she didn't have much time. And her previous owners had the nerve to call me and insist I buy her some monkey chow, they refused to believe it was unhealthy!!!I just pray they never own another ig again. Sadly Lizzy passed away in January of 2002.
