ok, i was in mk`s( melissa kaplan) site the other day, and i came across this article about a yellow substance on an igs mouth. the article said that sometimes when an ig eats something that is very tough, it will cut its mouth. when that happens, a yellow substance will form on the sore and it will crust part of the mouth shut. i guess kinda like a scab. but i guess it is harmless and you should just watch it for signs of infection. i don`t know if that is what your ig has, but maybe you should take it to the vet to check it out. you might want to visit mk`s site and look for that article, i may be missing something form it. i read it a couple of days ago.hope this hepls!!

: Spot has a yellow jelly like growth on the left side of his jaw and neck (the scale). It was not there last night. Does anybody know what this can be? My mother says it looks like fungus. The vets around here are not open on Sundays so I can't call mine.

: thanks,
: Jennifer
