I'm glad to hear that you've met your new owner and liked her so much! :-) Sounds like you're pretty prepared to take good care of her, too. I just hope she doesn't miss her old pet humans too much and adjusts easily and quickly to her new home. And to think of all the work she put into training those humans already! Now she'll have to start all over again with you. I'm sure that you'll learn quickly. ;-)

PS: I see you on CornSnakes.com forums sometimes, too. :-) Now you'll have all the same pets I do (plus a few more).
: Hi Everyone!
: I went to see the iguana that I'm adopting on Wednesday evening. She is absolutely amazing! *grins* She is almost five years old and is 4'2" STL. She has an incredible personality and follows her owners around the house. If she gets a little nervous or annoyed about something someone is doing to her, she will just *tap* them with her tail, never *whip* them, to let them know. Her owners have had her since she was six months old, they bought her at a pet store (*sighs*) and she was only 9" STL.
: I just love her personality, extremely alert and intelligent. I sat down on the couch near her and she got up and walked right over, sat down on my lap, and looked me right in the eye. She has beautiful eyes!
: Her diet hasn't been the best, but not the worst. An aweful lot of fruit, but no animal protein! She also has no UV lights, but I think that she did have them for the first several years old her life. She looks really healthy to me, but I am still very inexperienced! With her diet and no UV exposure, she can't be healthy though!
: Her owners are bringing her out next Saturday (the 27th) and will take her to my reptile vet on the way here. The vet said that he would call us that evening to tell us what he saw while examining her.
: We didn't expect to bring an iguana home quite this soon, so we are really going to have to put a move on to get her enclosure built in time. My Dad and I are going to start on it first thing in the morning. The enclosure will be 8ft long, 3ft wide, and as high as we can build it, so probably around 7ft. I originally wanted to build it 4 ft wide, but my parents wouldn't go for that, so I settled at the bare minimum of 3ft.
: Her cage will be all set on timers, I hope. I want to put a radiant heat panel in, but they are really expensive and wouldn't arrive here in time so we are trying to work out an alternate heat source. We have a small space heater, but it has a fan running all the time and I think the constant noise it makes would stress Cheeko out. Any suggestions for heat sources that would maintain the overall cage temperature? It will be primarily closed in with plex-glass, except for a screen door and vents. I wanted to get an ActiveUV bulb by T-Rex but my Dad said that would be way too bright and that he didn't want that in the house, so we are going to buy Zoomed instead.
: I LOVE grocery shopping, and I'm really excited about going into Sobey's to get food for Cheeko! I live in a very rural area, and our grocery store doesn't carry all the foods she needs, so we get to drive into the BIG store, and that doesn't happen very often! *smiles*
: All in all I'm sooo excited and really think I'm ready to take this challenge on. I've been researching for almost two years now! Here are a few pictures I took of Cheeko at her home on Wednesday. Enjoy! Wendy :)
