The darker green color is normal. It happens because your ig wants to absorb the sun light.

Flavia

: you guys having such wonderful experiences with Your Ig's outside in the real sun shine. So I took Smirnoff out on a hip leash (THANKS FOR THE IDEA!! :) ). I know I haven't had him very long But I've been learning His moods and temperment. I also felt brave today. :)He Threw a little fit (thrashing, not whiping or rolling) as I walked to the door but as soon as I opened it, he settled right down! I sat in one of our chairs and He sat right in my Lap!! After a couple minutes of licking the air and looking around, He moved up on My shoulder! I can honestly say It was the first a time I've ever had a 4 foot lizard on My shoulder! :) hehehe After a couple more minutes He climbed to the ground and started exploring. He throw a little fit when I wouldn't let Him walk too far away. But settled right back down and streched out of our walk way. Then I got the idea of putting Him on the rail since I'm always reading they HATE being on the ground. Now you have to understand our rail is wood and the top is about 3 and a half inches wide. He just climbed right up there (from my arms) and layed right down. Licked a few times but them just chilled!!! I was ssssoooo excited!!! Still am!! I only took him out for a total of 10 minutes (timed it). I think He REALLY liked it. Even more then his bath and being misted!! It is really hot and humid today so I thought it would be ok for him. I suffered though... :) I think this might be a every other day thing (daily if I can work My schedule out) cause he really seemed to be enjoying himself. I usually let him bask in My window but The sun only hits there for a short time and by the time I get home from work, It's almost gone. But if I can take him out into the sun, He can sit in it for hours!! Have to work Our way up to that though. But I did notice one thing though. He seemed to change color and turn this really dark grey on his head, arms, tail and some of his body. Does anyone else notice this? Is it ok? Everytime He's in the sun He does this, but not in his cage with those UV light.... Just thought I'd ask.....
: On another note, I took your advice and stop all fruit in His bowl. Yesterday was the first day I did that and He didn't seem to eat much, if any. But today while sitting in the wondow sill, He eat a few BIG mouth fulls! And outside He wanted to eat some weeds and grass (couldn't let him, it's been sprayed :( ). But at least He was showing signs of being hungry! Thanks so much for your help. He was really starting to worry me.
: THANKS AGAIN!!!
: Heather
