ok heres the lowdown on iggy poo: its big, stinky and they find the worst spots to do it in! it has 3 parts to it, the liquid which is the consistensy of an egg white( not hardboiled i might add...); then you have the white part which is like white chunks; then you have of course the big pile o poo!! which is a brownish olive greenish color for my ig ( if this is not what color it should be let me know someone!! ). as far as the uvb lighting goes, 2.4% seems low, mine is 5.0. i have mk`s address for you: www.sonic.net/melissk/. go to this site for tons of info.it is all relaible info and melissa kaplan is considered to be one of the foremost authoritys on iguanas and thier care. as far as the bathing goes: do it as often as he will let you! the swiming is good exercise and the water is good for his skin, especially when he is shedding. the spraying is good also, try not to spray him with cold water though, at least room temperature. iguanas need some hmidity. about the wire mesh, it is true that it will not hold in humidity, and it will also not hold in heat. a good idea would be to move the cgae into a spare room if you have one so that you can contain heat and humidity within the room since the wire will not contain it withng the cage.hope this helps!

: Since I hear y'all talk about iggy poop a lot I figured I'd ask what it is supposed to look like...What is it supposed to look like. :) I'm used to snake and bd poo.
: Also about the UVB lighting. I've heard conflicting information. What is the proper %? I got the strip light and a zoomed bulb. (2.4%, I think that's too low?) But I'm looking around for a vita-lite. (that is the best right?)
: About humidity. I know a couple people said the chicken wire doesn't hold the humidity in. Does it help that I spray him with water several times a day? It's like a little rain shower. I finally sanitized my bathtub for him. It'll be just for him since no one uses our upstairs bathtub. (ceiling slants)How often should Spot take a dip? (again I've read conflicting info)
: And finally off topic here. I got confirmation today that my female ball python (Malebolgia) is gravid. :) I never planned to breed. In fact I didn't know Mal was a female till I put her in with the male (Almagoa) and well they started getting really friendly. ;)

: thanks for all info,
: Jennifer and Spot
: and yes Spot is very good looking.
